Henry Ford - like Enzo Ferrari - was a visionary and in the early 1960s, favourably impressed by the publicity that famous manufacturers, such as Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin and Jaguar, received from their participation in racing (hence the motto: "win on Sunday, sell on Monday ") at the suggestion of Lee Iacocca, tried to acquire the legendary brand of the Prancing Horse from Maranello.
The negotiation failed badly and Enzo Ferrari abruptly called transactions off with Ford, who however did not give up and decided to continue his adventure in the world of racing. First by supporting Carrol Shelby in the Gran Turismo category with the Ford Cobra 427 S / C then, in collaboration with Eric Broadley's Lola, creating a car capable of competing and beating the Ferraris.
Thus was born the Ford GT 40 whose name is inspired by the height of the car measured at the windshield (40 inches or just over a meter, as required by the sports regulations of the time). Thus came the first major international successes in the Daytona and Sebring races and, in 1966, the first of four consecutive Ford victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Ford had entered the legend, beating Ferrari and taking his revenge.
His visionary stubbornness had prevailed in the Ferrari v Ford war. The rest is the story of two giants of the automobile world who, driven by passion and love for their work, knew no bounds.
Today WORKY would like to associate the Ford GT 40 with its product GROLLY-YA, a portable solution for the extraction of exhaust gases. This unit can prove to be an excellent solution for sports cars, thanks to the presence of two nozzles with large openings on arms that can be positioned independently and without contact with the car. In detail, the kit is equipped with a 1 hp fan connected to two Ø 100 flexible hose resistant to 200 ° C and ending with two rubber nozzles with closing valves. The arms supporting the nozzles - as well as the fan - are height adjustable. The GROLLY-YA unit does not require permanent installation and is suitable for cars with single or double exhaust. Its functionality and ease of handling make the GROLLY-YA suitable for private garages, historic car museums and temporary workshops. In addition to the GROLLY-YA extraction unit, you may annex its accessory kit GROLLY-GTP15010: a 10-m-long flexible hose Ø 150 mm to convey outside the extracted exhaust gas.
