This month, we want to present our product together with a Gran Turismo car, that made the history , we are talking about the Lamborghini Espada.
The first GT with 4 seats made by the Company located in Sant’Agata Bolognese, became a best seller of the Lamborghini brand, surpassing the Miura with 1226 units sold. Equipped with luxurious leather interiors and briar inserts, Espada allowed you to travel in total comfort at very high speed. Even the passengers in the rear seats, had enough space to travel in total relax.
The forerunner of the Espada was the Lamborghini Marzal, which made its debut in the lap of honor during the 1967 Monte Carlo Formula 1 GP, driven by Prince Ranieri of Monaco and his wife, the beautiful Hollywood actress, then become Princess, Ms. Grace Kelly.
Ranieri was so fascinated by this prototype, that Lamborghini decided to develop it giving life to the Espada. The engine was 12-cylinder 3229 cc., capable of delivering 375 horsepower, the car just 1.20 meters high, took its name from the sword used by bullfighters in bullfights, a tradition to which Lamborghini was always linked and thst inspired the names of a lot of his racing cars.
